2 typed letters from Winston Churchill to C. C. Wood, his chief copy editor. Signed: “Yours sincerely / Winston S. Churchill,” & “WSC / 15 VII”. Churchill was working on his final great work, his four volume “A History of the English-Speaking Peoples”.

Woods’ Galley Proofs: Churchill Bibliography

$1,250 – Signed by Frederick Woods (Churchill’s bibliographer)
Original long galley proofs (measuring approx. 8.75″ x 23″) for Woods’ first edition of A Bibliography of the Works of Sir Winston Churchill. This set of galley proofs appear to have been Woods’ actual set.

Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years

The companion book to the 1982 Masterpiece Theater series The Wilderness Years in which Robert Hardy played Winston Churchill. Superb copy of this special edition: bound in full red leather, bright gilt lettering to spine, all edges gilt, no DJ as issued, filled with photographs.

Sir John Randolph Leslie (1885-1971), known as Shane Leslie was Churchill’s cousin. In 1908 Leslie became a Roman Catholic and supported Irish Home Rule. This letter from Churchill, dated 10 April 1908, thanks Leslie for sending him information concerning “O’Briens views on Land Purchase”.
