The first two volumes were written by Randolph Churchill (Churchill’s son) and the final six volumes by Martin Gilbert who was an assistant to Randolph Churchill for the first two books. When Randolph Churchill died in 1968 Martin Gilbert took on the task to complete this 8 vol biography. The first volume is inscribed & signed by Randolph Churchill in 1966 and last six volumes are all signed by Martin Gilbert. The only book without a signature is Vol.2

Gilbert has signed Vols 3, 4, 5, 6 & 8 on the Title Page. In Vol 7 his signature is on a dedicated page, stating it is one of a Limited Edition of 500 signed copies.

Clean throughout. (The colored dots on some spines are on the mylar covers, not the dust jackets. They were used by a previous owner to denote signed books.)

A fine set in very good dust jackets.
