Housed in a custom full navy morocco clam-shell box with gilt lettering and raised bands on spine, lined with matching navy suede.

A collection of 23 essays on a wide-ranging group of subjects such as The Great War, Politics, Churchill’s career and his hobbies. Some chapters had already been printed. Two examples are:
Shall We Commit Suicide?” on p245 was first printed around 1924.
The final essay on p305, ‘Painting as a Pastime’ first appeared in an article in 1921.
