Unique Churchill Gold Bust
Paragon China Company, a manufacturer of bone china from 1919-1960 was based in Langton, Stoke-on-Trent. In addition to the tableware it became famously known for, it also produced this bust of Winston Churchill together with others.
What makes this one special is that it is the only one known to be finished in gold. The others are either in white or black. The sculptor, Reginald Johnson, owned this particular bust, a unique piece to be sure.
Paragon held warrants of appointment to successive Kings and Queens of England. Today Paragon is part of Royal Doulton.
