This leaflet is a solicitation for membership to the New Commonwealth Society. The subscription form in the center of page 1 was to be cut out, filled in & sent back to the New Commonwealth Society, Thorney House, Smith Square, London S.W.1. with payment. Membership was 10/- per annum.

Churchill’s broadcast address of 16 October 1938, sometimes referred to as ‘The Lights are Going Out’ or ‘We Must Arm’ is reproduced in full. This speech is one of Churchill’s most well known pre World War 2 speeches.

Leaflet has previously been folded. Closed tears to edges & small piece missing bottom left corner. Somewhat frail as can be seen in the photos. Stored in protective sleeve.
