The stations of uncensored expression are closing sown; the lights are going out; but there is still time for those to whom freedom and parliamentary government mean something, to consult together.
Let me speak in truth and earnestness while time allows…”

Single leaf 8” x 11” printed on both sides.
Issued by the New Commonwealth Society, London April 1939.

This leaflet is a solicitation for membership to the New Commonwealth Society. The subscription form in the center of page 1 was to be cut out, filled in & sent back to the New Commonwealth Society, Thorney House, Smith Square, London S.W.1. with payment. Membership was 10/- per annum.

Churchill’s broadcast address of 16 October 1938, sometimes referred to as ‘The Lights are Going Out’ or ‘We Must Arm’ is reproduced in full. This speech is one of Churchill’s most well known pre World War 2 speeches.

Leaflet has previously been folded. Printed on both sides – the front somewhat browned. One small closed tears to right edge. Stored in protective sleeve.

An extremely rare item in excellent condition for the serious Churchill Collector.
