Churchill Centenary Silver Punch Bowl, Ladle, 8 Cups: Garrard

Sterling silver punch set, including punch bowl, eight cups and ladle, comes from the limited edition of 100 sets designed by John Churchill and Alex Styles for Garrard and Company, Ltd., of London, in 1974, to commemorate the centennial of the birth of Winston Churchill on November 30, 1874.

This sterling silver punch bowl set listed here is Number 16 from the edition of 100.
The bowl is engraved with scenes from Churchill’s life including the Cavalry charge at the Battle of Omdurman in the Sudan campaign, emblems of his writing, horsemanship and painting, addressing soldiers below the flags of the Allied Powers, views of Blenheim, and Churchill depicted as a knight of the Garter in ceremonial attire.
The cups show the Churchill coat of arms and feature the familiar family motto, “Fiel Pero Desdicado”, meaning faithful but unfortunate (or disinherited).

Bowl measures 12 inches (30.5 cm) across and 6.25 inches (16 cm) tall.

Total weight is approximately 149 troy ounces.
