This is the first volume of The Official Biography of Winston Churchill, started by Randolph Churchill but completed by Martin Gilbert upon Randolph’s death.

Randolph Churchill (Sir Winston’s son) wrote the first two volumes of the official life of his father, with Martin Gilbert as his research assistant. Upon Randolph’s death in 1968 – while working on Volume three – Gilbert became Churchill’s official biographer until his death in 2015.
