Proof Copy of Black Basalt Plate: Churchill Centenary, 1874 – 1974

Jasperware, Wedgwood. 1974.
Made in England.

Smallish plate. Measures approx. 6.5″ diam.
Raised bust (Machin) of Winston Churchill in the center.

This plate is a Proof Copy of the Commemorative plate issued by Wedgwood in 1974. The plates are exactly there same except this plate doesn’t have any gilt lettering: the text around the rim of the plate and on the back is missing. It also lacks the shine on the finished plate.

Excellent Condition. Small spot of yellow paint on the back.
