Churchill Books, Churchilliana & EphemeraWinston Churchill Figure made from Chicken Wishbone
A unique and interesting piece of Home Front collectables.
This Churchill figure is made from a chicken wishbone and then modelled accordingly. The figure stands approx. 2.75 inches tall. Expertly painted and modelled, this superb little item would be perfect anyone interested in Churchilliana.
Made by artist Robert Whiting of Devon, who was killed during WW2 in the Blitz in Plymouth while serving as a Fireman at the age of 28.
The chicken wishbones were supplied by “Shippams” potted meat factory who saved them for Whiting to create his art: the attached label attests to their origin.
An interesting wartime item, in excellent condition.
