"One of the Largest Private Collections to Come on the Market"Churchill Speech: Why I Am A Free Trader
Scarce Pamphlet
Why I Am A Free Trader. Published by the Review of Reviews, 3 Whitefriars Street, London April 13th 1905.
First Edition
24pp
This was the first in the series Coming Men on Coming Questions, published in 1905.
Edited by W. T. Stead
Book & Pamphlet measure approx. 6″ x 9.5″
The First Edition pamphlet has recently been bound in half morocco binding with cloth sides.
The original front cover of this pamphlet showed Winston Churchill standing. This photo of Churchill now serves as a frontispiece having been removed from the wraps and pasted onto a page while the pamphlet was being bound into a book.
Slight foxing to some pages otherwise an excellent example of an early work.
Later that same year (1905) Stead put together and published 26 pamphlets in book form, this being the No 1. (Woods B2, Cohen B3)
