Winston Churchill Toby Jugs in Four Different Colorways

Jarvis was instructed by his employer Lord Mackintosh of Halifax to model a toby jug of Winston Churchill using pastel colours and translucent glazes in the style of earlier toby modelers.

The design portrays Churchill as an artist holding palette and brushes and giving his famous V for victory sign with his right hand. There is a trowel at his left side pertaining to his skills as a bricklayer and an inkwell and quill pen on his right-hand side pertaining to his greater skill as a writer. It took me over 40 years to collect the four different colorways and I am not sure if there are others.  What I do know is that the jugs were produced in a very limited number.

Hall mentions never having seen a number above 200, but the green one displayed here is numbered 216, the brown one being number 71, the yellow one is 130 and the blue one is 131.
