Sir Winston Churchill – “The Making of the Man” Full Set with Medals

Three identical red faux leather cases, each containing a softcover book and a set of 8 proof Churchill medals struck in Sterling Silver produced by the Royal Mint of Great Britain for the American Express Company.

Churchill’s life (1874 – 1965) is divided in to 3 periods, hence the 3 cases. The books are:

The Early Years
The Years of Preparation
From Wilderness to Power

Author: Martin Gilbert (Churchill’s official biographer)
From the inside cover:  American Express Company and Martin Gilbert, 1974
Each book measures approx. 8″ x 12″
Softcover books with illustrations.

Each proof medal measures 45mm in diameter & weighs 720 grains and is housed in a clear plastic case with a felt cover protecting the case.

With original registration certificate from the original purchase in 1975.

The medals, books and protective cases are all in excellent condition.
