She writes:
Many many congratulations upon your approaching marriage. Winston tells me that Mrs. Macy is beautiful, distinguished and charming. I have been silent as the tomb about this happy news (according to your instructions & Winston’s) but last night I was passing the news ticker “in No. 10” & saw it on the tape.
I am so glad about it; please say so to your bride for me –
