An early “pulp” style reprint of Churchill’s novel. Printed on cheap pulpy paper which browns over time, ads at each end, in illustrated paper covers printed red and blue.
Size 5.75 x 8.25 inches, 128 pages, with two full page plates on slick paper, making it the first illustrated edition. Part of Newnes “sixpenny novels illustrated” series. A fragile item, low survivability, scarcer than first editions.
An average copy, front cover split at bottom, rear cover bottom corner missing, see photos of front and back cover. Contained in a blue cloth covered Solander case with leather spine label.
