Signed by the author, Philip Zeigler. 1986, and also Mountbatten’s daughter, the Countess Mountbatten of Burma
Typed letter with the Ministry of Defense letterhead laid in, signed by Mountbatten of Burma dated March 11, 1960 relating to the “Queen Elizabeth” show in 1918 plus a copy of “Der Tag” (from 1915 according to my research) addressed to a Mr. Gregory.

Contains two photographs of Mountbatten: a vibrant color photo on the verso of the front cover and a fine, black and white photograph at the rear. Additionally numerous photographs are featured throughout the book plus a foldout chart of the Mountbatten family tree.

This autobiography is beautifully bound in full navy blue crushed morocco by Zaehnsdorf. The spine features gilt panels, five raised bands and gilt lettering. The gilt tooled decorations, silk end-leaves and photographic pastedowns all make this a very desirable copy for anyone’s library. A custom-made blue slip slipcase houses and protects this rare book.
