Mountbatten – Eighty Years in Pictures

This book went to press the same year that an Irish Republican Army bomb ended Mountbatten’s life by blowing up his small boat off the coast of Ireland, taking his life and several others, including his grandson, Nicholas Knatchbull aged 14.

Filled with B&W & color images outlining the life of Louis Mountbatten (1900-1979).
Lord Mountbatten personally selected the photos filling this book giving us an insight into his childhood, education, naval and diplomatic careers, marriage, and life as a member of the British royal family.

A Cosway style miniature color cameo of Lord Mountbatten in uniform is featured in the center of the front board; covers are in burgundy Moroccan leather with gilt box line around edges (reverse as well including signature facsimile in gilt).

At the back of the book are 2 foldout Family Trees together with a color photograph of his flagship H.M.S. Liverpool.
