Field Marshal Douglas MacArthur Signature – Stamps

Douglas MacArthur was an American five-star general and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army. He was Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II.

Here we have his signature on a 100th Anniversary United States Postage Stamps label along with a USA 3c stamp showing Corregidor Island which is at the entrance of Manila Bay.
On 11 March 1942, MacArthur and members of his family and staff left Corregidor for Australia after which his forces were surrounded by the Japanese.
