The Dream was originally written in 1947. This is one of Churchill’s very few non-fiction writings: it is an imaginary conversation with his Father. (Churchill’s only novel is Savrola, first published in 1899)

It was first published in The Sunday Telegraph on 30th January 1966.

– The second edition of The Dream was produced in an edition of 1000 copies with 70 copies bound in green leather by Robert Hartnoll Ltd. Bodmin, Cornwall. The 70 copies in leather binding were for Churchill family members celebrating the 120th  anniversary of Sir Winston’s birth at the Pinafore Room, Hotel Savoy on 30th November 1994.

– The Dream was also published in Latvian in an edition of 25  for presentation to President Guntis Ulmanis of Latvia by Friend of ICS Richard Ralph, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Latvia.
