One page letter, on Admiralty stationery, dated 18th Oct. 1912.
Seventeen lines handwritten in ink by Churchill when he was First Lord of the Admiralty to a Mr. Grant, responding to an inquiry.
“I am sorry that deafness interfered with your service afloat, but I understand that you are still available for shore duty, apart from your work at the college, should an emergency arise…”
Faint crease from old fold.
