Sir Winston Churchill lead crystal decanter, by Garrard & Co.,1974.

This lead crystal decanter produced in a limited edition of 100 made by Orrefors for Garrard & Co. It is gilt-engraved depicting Churchill as a Knight of the Garter, flanked by four heralds with the legend ‘To commemorate the centenary of the birth of Sir Winston Spencer Churchill 1874-1974’. The base is etched “Garrard & Co. Ltd. The Crown Jewelers, 112 Regent Street, London W1“, “No. 22”. The stopper bears the Churchill coat of arms. Without the presentation case.

The glass stopper on this decanter is broken with part of it remaining in the neck of the decanter;  the stopper fits securely in the neck decanter so shows perfectly. (see pic) Hence the reduced price – a quarter of the price of the other example for sale on this website.
