First edition, and the first published appearance of Winston Churchill’s 16 June 1941 wartime broadcast address to the University of Rochester upon receiving an honorary degree by the University. It was the first time a degree had been bestowed upon Mr. Churchill by an American University.
23-page booklet which contains the full text of Churchill’s speech on his acceptance of an honorary degree.
Excerpts from other honorees are included Eve Curie (Marie Curie’s daughter).
Churchill’s speech is 3 pages with his photograph. The speech was later reprinted in THE UNRELENTING STRUGGLE under the title “Birth Throes of a Sublime Resolve”.
Card covers slightly browned, bottom staple detached from cover (pages still intact) otherwise in Excellent Condition.
