Both Winston and Clementine Churchill were horrified when, in 1936, Sarah (their 3rd child) eloped and married Vic Oliver von Samek, a divorced Viennese entertainer nearly twice her age. They married on Christmas Eve in 1936 in New York. They divorced in 1945.
