A superb set of two large ‘Burleigh Ware’ Churchill toby jugs in excellent condition by Burgess and Leigh.

Each measures approx. 11″
The seat is decorated with an anchor, an airplane and a Union Jack flag.
“BULLDOGS” is inscribed on each large toby of Churchill standing astride a bulldog.
Imprinted on the base:

“WE SHALL DEFEND EVERY TOWN AND EVERY CITY”
Different colorways of this toby jug were issued: this pair feature Churchill wearing a brown jacket which was for export only and the uncolored version which was produced for the UK market.
Both jugs are in excellent condition, no chips or crazing.
One of the nicest wartime productions.
