The edition was limited to 100 numbered copies finely printed on hand made paper at the Curwen Press. None of the copies were for sale, they were made as gifts from the Prince of Wales. This is copy no. 73.

This magnificent work was dedicated to the Prince of Wales (the future King Edward VIII) who was patron of the British Legion, and published in aid of the Legion, contains superb illustrations, articles, stories and poems by leading artists and writers of the day.

Most of the literary and artistic contributions in this volume appeared nowhere else. The 100 hundred copies were only for presentation by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales (the future King Edward VIII). Apart from the superb illustrations by prominent artists there are 33 articles, stories and poems by leading writers of the day. It is signed by more than 80 of the contributors including Winston Churchill whose contribution is a two page essay about Field Marshal Earl Haig.

Minchin collected a remarkable group of well-knowns to contribute to and sign the book including the following authors, artists, Prime Ministers, the French President and the future King of England, H. R. H. The Prince of Wales:

Needless to say, this book does not come on the market very often but I have seen 5 or 6 in my 30+ years of collecting so they are out there; more readily available are copies of the limited edition of 500 unsigned copies in a red buckram binding and also the trade edition.
