Coming Men on Coming Questions in Custom Clamshell Box

Coming Men on Coming Questions, Edited by W.T. Stead, Published by Review of Reviewers, 3, Whitefriars Street, London April 13th 1905. This is somewhat easier to find than the individual pamphlet (Woods A7/1). This copy has been excised from the book and is in very good condition. It has a custom made cover and card chemise and is preserved in a custom made ¾ green morocco book-like clamshell box. The articles comprising this book were originally issues in parts of which this is No.1 of the series. ‘Why I am a Free Trader’ by Winston S. Churchill, which appears in the book pp6 – 22. Why I Am A Free Trader- Rare Pamphlet of 1905 Speech by Winston Churchill

Why I Am A Free Trader. Published by Review of Reviewers, 3 Whitefriars Street, London April 13th 1905. 24pp. This is a rather scarce pamphlet and one of the earlier Churchill speech pamphlets. The frontis contains a portrait of Churchill cut down and pasted onto the first page. Slight foxing to some pages otherwise an excellent example of an early work. The pamphlet has recently been bound in half morocco binding with cloth sides. I have only seen 3 or 4 of these for sale in over 30 years. The same speech appears in the book Coming Men On Coming Questions p6–22. Value $4,000. Woods A7/1 (B2), Cohen A15...

WINSTON CHURCHILL SPEECHES: FOR LIBERALISM AND TRADE, 1908

This is a very fragile pamphlet printed on inferior stock; it is therefore very scarce as not many have survived. I have not seen another copy on the secondary market. Speeches of Churchill during the campaign in Dundee, May 1908…

Second World War – 6 vols – Limited Edition 100 copies by Winston Churchill

The Second World War, Limited Edition of 100 copies for presentation. Vol I: The Gathering Storm Vol 2: Their Finest Hour Vol 3: The Grand Alliance Vol 4: The Hinge of Fate Vol 5: Closing the Ring Vol 6: Triumph and Tragedy First English editions bound by the publisher (Cassell, London) in full black pebble grain Morocco. There are many editions of The Second World War by Winston Churchill; the American edition (Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1948-53) is the true first edition. I will be featuring many of the different editions on this site in later issues. This is a near fine set with bright gilt tooling, and contents which appear unread. These special limited editions are seldom seen on the secondary market these days. In the meantime, I recommend new collectors seeking detailed bibliographical information on works by Churchill to get hold of a copy of Woods, Langworth or Cohen – preferably all three. Value for a set in this condition: $6,000. Woods A123(b),  Cohen A 240.4, Langworth...

The New Examen by John Paget: Critical Introduction & Signed by Winston S. Churchill

The Haworth Press, 1934 This is copy no. 8 of the Deluxe Limited Edition of 50 copies all of which are signed by Churchill. It is printed on hand-made paper by Sherratt and Hughes at the St. Ann’s Press, Manchester and bound in full chestnut Niger Morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in the old style and is protected in a matching slip case. The publication price for this book in 1934 was three guineas (63 shillings). This is a fine collector quality copy in pristine condition, valued at $10,000. I welcome feedback from collectors and dealers alike regarding the valuation either up or down. I am trying to make this site as useful as possible for all collectors and of course would like to keep it continually updated.  Prices will always vary considerably and one has to expect to pay higher prices to a high end bookshop which has considerable overhead as compared to a part time internet dealer working from his home.
