First edition in original cloth inscribed by the author as follows:

“For Winston Churchill / Best regards / Charles G. Dawes / January 11th 1936”.

With Randolph Churchill’s bookplate on the front pastedown and the ex-lib bookplate of Winston Churchill directly under it.

Book by Charles G. Dawes: Notes as Vice President

Dawes was Vice President of the United States during the Hoover administration and is the namesake for the Dawes Plan. Indeed the one mention of Churchill in his book refers to a discussion of that plan.
Dawes, along with Austin Chamberlain was the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925.
