Extract from Winston Churchill’s famous Speech of June 4th, 1940 by the famous printer Bruce Rogers in his type, Centaur. Read more about Bruce Rogers here.

“…We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender…”

This single page is preserved in a red watered silk chemise which is housed inside a three quarter navy blue morocco clamshell book-like box with contrasting red leather title label and marbled paper covered boards. A scarce item.

“Designed by Bruce Rogers, set in his Centaur type, printed under the supervision of Bruce Rogers on his Albion hand-press, on the occasion of the Distaff Side Book Carnival and Dance, at the Hotel Ambassador , April 23rd, 1941.
